EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENT BEHAVIOR
Classroom
First Offense: Student will be asked to correct behavior.
Second Offense: Conference between student and teacher.
Third Offense: Student will be referred to an administrator; parents will be contacted.
Tardy Policy
Any student acquiring more than 3 unexcused tardies will be asked to make up time before or after school.
At the 4th tardy, a student must make up 15 minutes before or after school.
At the 5th tardy, a student must make up 30 minutes before or after school.
At the 6th tardy, a student must make up 60 minutes before or after school.
Students earning more than 6 tardies will be assigned detention in accordance with school policy.
Absences and Make-Up Work
Letter grades will be assigned based upon the percentage of total points earned from tests, quizzes, labs, worksheets, and at my discretion, participation points. The standard grading scale will be used.
Cheating Policy
Cheating is considered a serious offense and will not be tolerated. Any student caught cheating on any assignment or exam will receive zero points for the activity as well as being referred to an administrator with notification to parents.
Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is considered vital for your success in this class. Should your attendance interfere with your progress, a parental note will be sent home as well as notifying the administrative office.
Classroom
- Be in your assigned seat before the last bell.
- Come to class prepared with a pencil, notebook, textbook, calculator, and completed assignment.
- Leave all food and beverages outside the classroom during any class session.
- Listen carefully when your teacher is lecturing or giving instructions.
- Leave all laboratory equipment alone unless instructed otherwise.
- Always observe special safety precautions while using laboratory equipment.
- Always leave your lab station clean at the end of class.

- When absent, it is the students responsibility to find out classroom work and assignments given on the missed day(s).
- For every day absent, a student has 1 day to make up assignments.
- Late work is penalized according to the following scale:
- 1 day late: 10% penalty.
- 2-3 days late: 20% penalty.
- more than 3 days late: 50% penalty.
- Students absent on a previously announced test day will be asked to take the test the day they return.
- There is no guarantee that lab work can be made up after an absence due to the fact that special equipment may no longer be set up. (Compensating points for missed labs may be earned in other ways.)
